What makes our difference?
The patient who arrives for urgent care is welcomed quickly without prior administrative formalities (unlike almost all other hospitals in Haiti). This provision gives us the reputation of being the only hospital in the region not to let a patient die because of lack of money. Moreover, our competent and professional staff ensures the immediate care of all our patients and practice clinical exams in the shortest time, 24/7

Camejo in the news
On August 14th, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the south of Haiti. The epicenter was not too far from the Camejo Hospital. Every day since, we’ve received and treated several victims of the earthquake free of charge. Help us continue providing medical relief to those who need it the most. Head over to our Donation page to make a tax-deductible donation that will go directly to our 100% locally owned and operated hospital.
In 2002, we set up the organization GROUPE CAMEJO (Conceived for Medical and Educational Action by Organized Youth) whose objective was to build a hospital capable of providing adequate care to the population. In addition, educational action in the medical field would allow us to train a good number of young people. We have therefore opted for progressive construction, with expansion over time, depending on demand and available funds.
Today, more than 16 years later, the hospital grounds have several building units spanned lengthwise, namely: Guard, Maternity, Outpatient clinic and operating theater, Main building and warehouse.
The regular patient pays for their consultation and sits in the waiting room. When their number is called, they enter the office where the medical assistant enters their contact information in and create their file. Then, the patient is seen by his doctor who takes their medical history and performs their physical examination. At this point, they receive a prescription for their lab tests, which in most cases are done on the same day at the hospital.
If patient deserves immediate relief or if the diagnosis is obvious, he may also receive a prescription. After the administrative formalities, the patient is directed to the collection room, radiology, ECG ... then awaits the results before returning to the doctor for the final prescription or for any other decision deemed necessary.
